In cases of recurrent urinary tract infections or interstitial cystitis, bladder instillation therapy can provide long term relief from symptoms. Vaccination either as an oral vaccine or an intramuscular injection can also be promising preventive measures.

Transrectal Ultrasound of the Prostate
Cost: € 45 (cash payment)
Transrectal ultrasound sonography (TRUS) allows for a more precise visualization of the prostate architecture as well as its size and provides detailed information about the internal structure of the prostate, particularly the peripheral zone where most carcinomas develop. This enables the detection of potentially malignant lesions that are not palpable during a digital rectal examination. TRUS is an easy to perform extension of the overall diagnostic evaluation for the initial assessment of elevated PSA levels or an abnormal digital rectal examination.
